ARCONA’s signature facial contouring treatment is loved by many thanks to its reputation for sculpting and reviving skin for a flawlessly chiseled complexion. We want to help you achieve similar results to ARCONA’s luxury, celeb-adored spa facial at home (as much as one can without the help of an expert esthetician). That’s why we’re sharing our best-kept secrets to creating a more sculpted and youthful complexion with an at-home spa day. Keep reading to discover more.
What is ARCONA’s Signature Facial Contouring Treatment? And Who Is It For?
This famous facial treatment is a deep muscle facial massage that incorporates a mix of advanced skincare products, acupressure, and lymph drainage to offer major rejuvenation to tired, puffy skin.
In a single session, ARCONA’s facial contouring treatments work to tone and tighten facial muscles, relieve puffiness, and relax skin. The result? An instantly younger complexion, sharper cheekbones, and a gorgeously “snatched” contoured look.
This treatment is ideal for anyone (excluding problematic skin types) who is looking for a more defined, firm, glowing complexion.
FYI: The more cumulative the sessions, the deeper and more profound the results are.

How to Create Your Own Facial Contouring Spa Moment at Home
When it comes to maintaining gorgeous skin, Arcona owner Chanel Jenae believes it’s all about being consistent with the right skincare routine. “Women over-moisturize and under-clean. It’s about simplicity and consistency: using the right tools, and being consistent, exfoliating without irritating,” she shares with Vanity Fair.

1. Cleanse
Every effective facial treatment begins with clean skin. For a deep clean, Chanel suggests a double cleanse.
Here’s how to double cleanse the ARCONA way:
- Start your first cleanse with the Four O’clock Flower Cleansing Cream, ARCONA’s signature oil based cleanser. This gentle and nourishing formula calms and reduces the appearance of redness while working to address free radical-related skin damage. A complex of seaweed and hyaluronic acid in this chirally-correct formula also works to replenish dehydrated skin and improve texture.
- Next, follow up with the White Tea Purifying Cleanser for gentle exfoliation thanks to its cranberry enzyme infusion. At the same time, this cleanser also works to maintain your skin’s delicate pH and smooth skin with soothing yucca, vitamin E, and shea butter.
2. Steam
It’s time to indulge in a facial steaming session. Steaming your skin helps to effectively soften, expand, and prepare your skin for treatment.
We recommend taking your steaming experience to the next level by infusing your steam with skin-enhancing botanicals. Chanel shares, “I like to add a few drops of Cerise + C oil or chamomile tea to a sink of hot water. I then do compresses. They have the same effect as steam baths.”
Compresses are also much simpler to conduct at home. Here’s how you can conduct this essential part of the signature facial contouring treatment:
- Heat about 2 pints of water to its boiling point. Allow it to cool briefly. Note that if your skin is very dry, mature, or sensitive, you should stick to lukewarm water.
- Next, add 3 to 4 drops of your essential oils of choice, stirring briefly.
- Once your water infusion is ready, dip a small terry washcloth into the water. Keep it saturated but wring it out lightly until it’s no longer dripping.
- Wrap your face around the towel, starting from your chin, moving upwards, making sure to leave a hole around your nose to ensure you breathe easily.
- While the compress is on your skin, take the time to massage your skin gently over the cloth. This will help stimulate your lymphatic system for greater detox benefits.
- Once your towel cools, you can dip it back into your water infusion and either rewrap it around your face or move it down to your neck and chest to continue boosting your lymphatic system.
3. Mask Up
Now that your skin is primed and prepped, it’s the perfect time for deeper action. Depending on your skin type, you can apply an exfoliating mask or one for hydration. Exfoliation, whether it’s enzymatic or physical, will help slough off dead skin cells to reveal fresh, radiant skin. Meanwhile, dehydrated skin can benefit from a deeply moisturizing face mask to replenish and plump tight skin.
Can’t choose just one? Apply both! “I love the Magic Black Ice mask for my T-Zone and Wine Hydrating Mask on my cheeks, upper lip, and neck,” Chanel shares.
4. Tap Away
Once you’ve rinsed off your mask, it’s time to get technical. Tapotement is a technique most commonly used in Swedish massage that comes with many contouring benefits. Tapotement works to tighten up muscles while revving up lymphatic drainage to eliminate excess fluids and leave skin noticeably more “snatched” and firm.
Chanel recommends combining tapotement with a DIY honey mask. “I like to use raw organic honey. 1 teaspoon is usually enough,” she shares.
And while there are several ways to perform the tapotement technique, Chanel recommends tapping. “I use a percussion tapping stroke where the hand action rhythmically stimulates circulation, and hydrates and purifies skin.”
Here’s how to do this step:
- With your honey mask on, use your fingertips to gently tap your face.
- Let the honey remain on your skin for 10 minutes.
- Rinse.
5. Seal the Deal with Moisture
Now that your skin has been cleansed, nourished, treated, tapped and contoured, seal in your healthy glow with light layers of moisture. Start by spritzing skin with either the Celestial Activating Essence or Lavender Hydrosol to offer dewy hydration that will leave you instantly glowing. Finally, follow up with your favorite nourishing face cream.
And there you have it, the ARCONA-approved luxe DIY facial contouring treatment you can use to enhance your complexion in the comfort of your own home!

Could you please post a video of the tapping technique? It’s the one part of this article that is Not specific. I would love to learn how to do it properly! Especially because I live in Boston and can no longer come into the spa for a contouring massage! But I am wondering if anyone in the New England area, especially the Boston area, is trained to do it?
Best,
Julie
Hi Julie,
That’s a great idea! We will try to get a video put together, but in the meantime there are a few up on YouTube that will show you basic facial tapping techniques. And while we do not yet have a location outside of our Studio that does the Contour, this is something we will be working to expand in the near future. 🙂
